Led Sled Rocket Win Week 4 of Bandwarz 2009
When young musicians decide to form a band, the image of long hair, graphic tees and heavy metal comes to mind. But when Lead Sled Rocket arrived on the scene at Bandwarz, they brought something different.
With retro shirts for the guys and a pretty dress for the gal, Lead Sled Rocket is a rockabilly/surf/psychobilly band from Bownmanville, Ontario. Besides a unique look, Lead Sled Rocket’s oldies style with a twist sound won them week four of Bandwarz 2009.
The band consists of Mickey Sick, Stretch Smith, Mark Sytnyk and Little Vicious whose gentlemanly and ladylike manners match their ensembles. When asked about performing at Bandwarz, Stretch Smith says, “We’re humbled every time we grace the stage,” adding, “all the bands were great.”
Winning week four of band wars secures Lead Sled Rocket a spot in the final showcase on June 20th.
