The tip of his fedora made women swoon, the sound of his voice made men dance. This Grammy award winning singer and Academy Award winning actor’s hits will be recreated once again on June 13th. “Come Fly with Me,” “Come Dance with Me,” “Come Rain or Come Shine” to A Tribute to Frank Sinatra.
Featuring Dave Statham & Swing Shift Big Band, A Tribute to Frank Sinatra performs at Park Playhouse & Performing Arts Centre on Saturday, June 13th, 2009. From Sinatra’s early days to his “Rat Pack” years, lead vocalist Dave Statham will be singing all the hits.
“It’s great to be able to do something that other people have a kick out of and it’s such great music,” says vocalist Dave Statham on performing Sinatra’s hits. “It’s a joy to sing and the band enjoys playing it.”
To perform the big hits, they use big sound. The band consists of a vocalist, piano, bass drums, guitar, four trombones, five saxophones and four trumpets. “It’s quite a feeling to have that kind of power behind you,” said Statham.
Formed in August 1996, Swing Shift Big Band has performed across Ontario. Venues Dave Statham & Swing Shift Big Band has performed in include the Liberty Grand and the Mississauga Living Arts Centre.
Swing Shift Big Band’s next stop is Cobourg, Ontario. At 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 13th, Dave Statham & Swing Shift Big Band will perform at Park Playhouse & Performing Arts Centre.
